about

House of Cards is one of the very first guitar songs I ever recorded, back in 2004-2005. I had just finished my first ever set of recordings. It was the next song I wrote. And it sounded better than anything I had ever done before. I played that fuzzy demo on repeat for days. But the road from that track (which had no vocals, or lyrics even) to the finished song you hear today was very long. I almost never went back to finish it. I'm glad I did.

lyrics

I keep telling you, baby
I'm just a fool
Such an easy game
When you don't know the rules

I know we're gonna collapse
When I get to the top
And I wanna put it away
I just can't stop

We all fall down

Such a silly game
We both like to play
When you wanna hold me close
I push you away

Sometimes I feel sad
I don't know why
'Cause I never thought
I'd ever get this high

We all fall down

about

I never thought I would actually play guitar. Then, when I finally picked it up and became decent, I never thought I'd ... more record. As I got better at recording, I knew I would never sing. Now that I'm doing all those things, I don't know where I'm headed. Regardless, music is my outlet. I hope you enjoy it. less
